IDeaS Revenue Management System (RMS-G2/G3) delivers scientific pricing and inventory control decisions at the room type and rate code level to drive optimal revenue performance across segments. Powered by SAS® High Performance Analytics, G3 RMS automates pricing, restrictions and overbooking decisions to maximize RevPAR.
IDeaS send the following decision files to Guestline (Rezlynx and/or Distribution Hub)
Decision Files:
- DailyBAR
- LRV
- MinLOS
- Overbooking by hotel
- Overbooking by room type
IDeaS can update of one flex rate table in your Rezlynx PMS. You will need to confirm to IDeaS the name of the flex rate table to be used for the connection. It is to this flex rate table that rate decisions will be sent. When IDeaS send through the decisions, you can see them on the ‘Exceptions’ tab.
Example ‘Flex Rate Table’
Rezlynx rate plans that you wish to be updated by IDeaS, please ensure that you have the correct flex rate table applied to your ‘Rate Rule’

Room and Rate Codes
For IDeaS to be able to update decisions successfully into Rezlynx, room codes and flex rate table codes need to be identical in both systems.

Preparing for the IDeaS decision uploads – LRV (last room value)
To enable you Rezlynx PMS to receive LRV Hurdle Rates from Ideas, you will need to manually enable this on each rate plan, on the rate plan header. To enable a rate plan for LRV tick ‘Enabled for Hurdle Rate’ as shown here.
Here you also set whether the rate is ‘Unqualified Bar’ or ‘Qualified’.
Definition of these terms:
Unqualified Rates
Rates offered by the hotel to guests who do not have an agreed contract rate and that have no restrictions or booking conditions attached to them.
Qualified Rate
A rate the guest must qualify for. A corporate rate for the guest’s company, a rate available due to an affiliation such as AARP, a promotional package rate with specific booking conditions etc.
Yieldable Management Uploads – Hurdle Rates and Overbooking
If IDeaS have configured their setup to send through hurdle rates and or overbooking decisions, they can be viewed here
System – Rates – Yieldable Management Uploads
LRV (last room value) – Hurdle Rates
When a room is sold, the availability is reduced, and the hurdle rate is increased accordingly. This will continue until the Ceiling is reached. Once this has been reached all yieldable rates will be unavailable.
LRV – Hurdle Rates do not update to Distribution Hub. Ideas instead use MinLOS restrictions to reflect the hurdles for online sale. Restrictions can be viewed in Guestline distribution – Restrictions Grid
If you have hurdle rates in Rezlynx, you do not need the MinLOS as well.
If the hotel is using IDeaS to set MinLOS values, whether these are sent to Rezlynx or only Distribution Hub, the hotel should NOT manually apply MinLOS restrictions to these rates in Rezlynx or Distribution Hub. This is because with each new successive upload from IDeaS, any manually applied MinLOS restrictions will be overwritten by what IDeaS sends.
IDeaS G3 and Best Western
IDeaS G3 is not certified to be used with Best Western. This means that IDeaS cannot push through restrictions to Rezlynx to the Best Western levels.
Example of Best Western levels in Rezlynx
Restrictions for the Best Western levels have to be manually applied in Rezlynx.
