In room billing can we remove the ability for reception to do a manual posting? We only want them to use the Guestpay integration.
It is not possible to remove the manual entry option from room billing. Users will need access to the ‘add payment’ option to use the integration and therefore can post both manual and integrated payments.
Can the terminals be set so they can only be used via the integration from Rezlynx and EPOS? We do not want them to be used as a standalone terminal.
Currently it is possible to use the peds paired and unpaired – we cannot remove the stand alone/manual functionality.
If the outstanding balance in room billing is higher than the pre-authorised amount, can you complete for the higher amount by overtyping the value?
It is not possible to complete for the higher amount by overtyping the value. A top-up must be made on the current pre-authorisation for the outstanding/additional amount, the new pre-authorised value can then be completed.
Can you complete if the outstanding balance is less than the pre-authorised amount?
The user can complete for a lesser amount than is being held and the remaining balance will simply release back to the card holder. There is no set timeframe on how long it will take to release, this is down to the issuing bank and card schemes. On average it can take anywhere between 7-30 working days.
Can you change the default amount that displays for a pre-authorisation/payment?
It is currently not possible to amend the default values that display, however these can be overtyped by the user. Default values as below:
Pre-authorisation: Remaining Balance + 15%
Payment: Outstanding/Remaining Balance
Can refunds be restricted?
Manual refunds on the PED are password protected and requires the managers password to perform them. A user with access to ‘add payments’ on Rezlynx can refund via the tru-link integration, however the user will not be able to refund for more than was taken on the original transaction. The refund will go back on the card used for the initial payment.
Does Guestpay work with Post Cash and NRA's?
Yes, the Chip & Pin integration does work with both features, customers must be present for the payments.
Do the GuestPay features work with Adv C&B Bookings?
GuestPay features are now enabled for Adv C&B Bookings.
Is there a value limit on paylinks?
You can process £1 or £999,999,999+ technically, but of course, the limitations come in based on the merchant’s limits on their contract which will vary between each merchant and also the cardholder’s limits which will also vary between cardholder’s/card issuing banks.
Does it cost more in transaction fees to tokenise a guests credit/debit card as opposed to manually inserting a credit/debit card in to the machine? OR all fees/transactions the same?
GuestPay quote All E-Commerce & Chip & PIN Fees at the same rate.
EG.
Can a pre-authorisation be added to a booking if it was performed manually and not via the integration?
It is not possible to manually enter a pre-authorisation on to the system. If a pre-auth is taken manually, it will also need to be completed or released manually.
Is there a refund limit on the PDQs?
If the payment was taken via the Tru-Link Integration, you can only refund up to value of the initial payment. For example, if £10 was taken through the integration, you would be able to partially refund between £0.01-£10.00, however you cannot refund for over £10.00. The refund is processed against the card used for the initial payment, and cannot be altered. You will not be able to refund via the integration once the booking is checked out.
If you are performing a manual Refund on the PDQ, the limit is £5000.
Are you able to change the Logo on the payment terminals?
