Overview
Single Sign On (SSO) is the process of using one set of credentials to access multiple applications or websites. The credentials are a username and password combination used to log in to the user's company-managed identity provider. Once logged in to their identity provider account, a user can access all their assigned company resources without having to re-enter their credentials for a period of time.
It's a bit like carrying a master key for all the rooms in your hotel, instead of carrying a separate key for each room.
Enterprise Connection
Using an Enterprise SSO Connection will allow you to manage your users' access to Guestline from within your organisation’s own identity provider. Alongside requiring your users to use Single Sign On (SSO) to log in to Guestline, you can create additional security policies within your identity provider to control who can access Guestline and even when, where and how.
Which Identity Providers are supported?
Guestline can be integrated with any identity provider. The only prerequisite is that your identity provider must be able to communicate with Guestline using the SAML or OIDC protocol languages. These protocols are industry standard, and are supported by almost all identity providers.
Common identity providers include Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), PingIdentity, Auth0, Okta etc.
Additional Security Policies
Users can only log in to Guestline when they have provided valid login credentials for your identity provider and have also met your access control (security) requirements. You are fully in control of choosing and configuring any additional access control policies within your identity provider.
You might choose to create policies around: Multifactor Authentication (MFA), IP address, device, failed login attempts, password complexity, how often users are prompted to enter their credentials etc. This list is non-exhaustive and it is not essential to create additional access control policies.
How do I connect my Identity Provider?
Guestline has a dedicated team who will work with your IT/security team to help integrate your identity provider with us. We can even advise you on how to integrate if your users don't have their own company email addresses.
Please contact Guestline Support or your Customer Success Manager to discuss setting up an Enterprise SSO Connection.
