Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to an application. This process typically involves something you know (like a password) and something you have (like a smartphone app that generates a one-time code). By adding this extra layer of security, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access, ensuring that your data remains safe even if your password is compromised.
Implementing MFA might feel like an additional step and may introduce some operational challenges for the hotel staff, but as part of a modern approach to system security it is crucial for protecting the sensitive information in your Property Management, Distribution and related Guestline systems.
Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible, integrating it smoothly into your login experience. With MFA, you can have peace of mind knowing that your accounts are protected by one of the most effective security measures available today.
Guestline and MFA
Guestline have offered an option to enable multi factor authentication for some time as a per-user setting in the user manager, many customers have benefited from the additional protection if offers to their Guestline login credentials – however we recently made the decision to start enforcing its use for certain people in certain roles who we feel really need the extra protection it provides but haven’t enabled it yet.
Whilst we firmly recommend the use of MFA for all people and all roles in your organisation we understand the operational problems it can bring to the table, this guide will try to answer your likely questions and offer solutions to ease the implementation of MFA into your organisation.
