Final Adjustments updating to Distribution

Final Adjustments configured in Rezlynx can now be updated directly to Distribution.

Follow this guide carefully before enabling the Feature Toggle, as this process is irreversible. It is essential to review and verify all rate configurations to avoid incorrect online pricing.

Key Considerations Before Enabling the Feature Toggle:

• Review All Rate Plans: Ensure all Rate Plans exposed to Distribution are correct since the Final Adjustment will impact all applicable Rate Plans.
• Impact on Adult Rates Only: Adjustments apply exclusively to adult rates.
• Negative Pricing: If an adjustment results in a negative price, the price will automatically be set to zero.
• Last Step in Price Calculation: The Final Adjustment will be the last step in the price calculation within Distribution.

Steps to Enable Final Adjustments to Distribution:

Step 1: Review Existing Final Adjustments in Rezlynx

• Check whether Final Adjustments are configured in Rezlynx and determine if they will impact online rates once the feature toggle is enabled.
• You might have set up workarounds for applying Final Adjustments within Distribution, that you may wish to remove or that will impact your pricing should you enable the Feature Toggle, such as:
  • Price Variance: Navigate to Distribution > Rates > Price Variance.
  • Linked Rates: Go to Distribution > Rates > Manage Rates > Edit and review any configurations.

If the Rate Plan is a Base Rate Link, follow these steps:

• Go to Distribution > Rates > Manage Rates > Details > BR Variances Editor to review applied variances.
• If the need for a Linked Rate Plan no longer exists, consider removing it. Note that removing a Linked Rate Plan from the Base Rate Plan means it will no longer inherit rates from the Base Rate Plan. Review and adjust these rates accordingly.

Step 2: Close Rate Plans Before Enabling the Toggle

• We strongly recommend closing your Rate Plans to channels before enabling the feature toggle.
• Ensure that the close-out has been applied successfully to all relevant channels.

Step 3: Check Each Rate Plan for Workarounds

• For each Rate Plan, identify any existing workarounds, such as Price Variances or Linked Rates. Make note of the adjustment amounts (monetary or percentage). Remove the workaround if required. 
• If Final Adjustments have not already been configured in Rezlynx, apply them now.

Step 4: Sync Final Adjustments to Distribution

• Check if the Final Adjustments have updated to Distribution by navigating to Distribution > Rates Manage Rates > Edit.
• If they are not visible, re-sync the Rate Plan to Distribution:
  • Go to System > Tools > Re-Sync > Distribution Hub.
  • Select Rate Plans, then Confirm.
  • Check again that the Final Adjustment has updated to Distribution.

Step 5: Enable the Feature Toggle

Once all preparations are complete:

• Go to Distribution > Rates > Manage Rates and enable the Feature Toggle.
• Verify that the pricing is correct by checking Distribution > Rates > Rates Per Day.

Step 6: Reopen Rate Plans

If you previously closed out Rate Plans, reopen them after enabling the feature toggle.

Ongoing Maintenance and Review

It's important to periodically review all online Rate Plans. Consider the following checks:

In Rezlynx:

• System > Rates > Rate Plans:
  • Check Start/End Dates.
  • Ensure Expose To is unticked for Distribution if no longer applicable.

In Distribution:

• Rates > Rates Per Day: Review daily pricing.
• Connections > Mapping: Confirm that mappings are up to date.
