Reservation Upsells
Reservation Upsells allow you to sell optional products at the point of booking to generate revenue and enhance the guest experience.
The Upsells Page can be found in the Reservation. It is the 4th page following Main, Guarantee, and Notes & Logs.
Reservation Upsells can also be created for Standard Conference & Banqueting. They can be seen on the 5th page, called 'Upsells'.
Products
Products are displayed in the page showing the following information;
- Product Code - Each product built needs its own unique code, which appears in the Upsells menu.
- Description - Pulls through onto the invoice.
- Value - Pull through the value against the product, but it can be edited when adding to the reservation.
- Charge Mode - Per Room, Per Person, Per Adult, Per Child, Per Infant, Single Charge.
The charge mode required usually depends on the type of product being sold. It can be edited when adding to the reservation.
Posting Mode - Simple, Custom, Rolling Allowance for X Days, Allowance per Stay.
Posting mode determines when the product is charged.
Simple
Allows the product charge to be posted on the day of arrival, resident days or day of checkout (or a combination of the 3). It is often used for everyday products, such as breakfast.
Custom
Allows you to use a schedule to select days within a 14 day period the product charge posts. After 14 days, the schedule will cycle back to the beginning.
Rolling Allowance for X Days
Is when the customer has an allowance to be used over a fixed number of days. They are not restricted to specific days, as long as it's during the fixed X period. Any allowance not used on the first day of the period will roll to the next day until it is used up or the allowance period ends. Variable pricing isn't available when using this posting mode.
Allowance per Stay
Puts no restrictions regarding when the product can be charged. Any allowance not used on the first day will carry to the next day until it is used up. Variable pricing isn't available when using this posting mode.
DOA / RD / DOC - Day of Arrival, Resident Days, Day of Check Out.
- Day of Arrival posts once, on the first day.
- Resident Days will post the product on each remaining day of the guests stay after the day of arrival.
- Day of Checkout will post on the final day.
Available - Only visible if a quantity (of stock) has been given to the product, i.e. Cots and Z-Beds. This number reduces as the stock decreases.
Adding / Removing Products
To add a product to a reservation select Add at the end of the product row.
The product will appear beneath the product list where you can customise it. You can change the value, update the quantity, amend the charge mode, change the posting mode, and determine when the product posts.
Using the Custom button near the end allows you to input a daily charge if the price varies. This option is removed when you use the Rolling Allowance for X Days or Allowance Per Stay posting modes.
To remove a Product prior to a guests arrival, select Remove at the end of the Product to delete it from the reservation.
Product Rate Plans
Products can be combined to make 'packages'. These feature under the Product Rate Plan section of the Upsells page, towards the bottom.
Product Rate Plans show the following information;
- Product Rule Code - Product rules have their own unique code, which appears in the Upsells menu.
- Description - Pulls through onto the invoice.
To see what products make up the package, click View. A pop-up will appear showing the product code, description, value, charge mode, posting mode, and DOA/RD/DOC.
Adding / Removing Product Rate Plans
To add a Product Rate Plan to a reservation select Add at the end of the row.
The product rate plan will appear beneath the product rate plan list where you can update the quantity, and override the price.
To remove a Product Rate Plan prior to a guests arrival, select Remove at the end of the Product Rate Plan.
View Summary
To see what products have been selected within the reservation, select 'View Summary' at the bottom of the upsells screen.
It will display the Product Code, show when it is due to post, the total cost and quanity which makes up the cost.
