Overview
Any property that has the Booking.com integration directly with Distribution Hub can now map the add-on codes provided by Booking.com to the upsell codes configured in Rezlynx to allow delivery of the add-ons as upsells on the reservations.
- Save staff time – no need to manually add the upsells to the reservation in Rezlynx
- Ensure correct cost of reservation – with the upsells delivering with the reservation, the total cost of the stay will now be correct from the time the reservation is delivered
Booking.com currently only support meals as additional services/add-ons. These are:
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Dinner
Please note that this is for the Booking.com direct connection to Distribution Hub only. Where Booking.com reservations are delivered via a 3rd party this feature is not supported, i.e. Best Western CRS
How to configure
-
Set up Booking.com Additional Service
Should a property wish to sell breakfast/lunch/dinner as an additional service during the booking process, they will need to log on to their Booking.com portal to set up their meal configuration.
Once logged on to the desired property, the user will need to navigate to ‘Property’ and then ‘Facilities & services’.
From here, scroll down to the section titled Meals:
From here, you can choose which meals you would like to sell as add-ons to the reservation during the booking process.
Please note, meals can either be included in the rate or excluded. Meals included in the rate are already covered by the rate plan that the booker reserves, and no additional upsells are sent with the reservation.
If the checkboxes for the meals are selected, these meals will be offered as an additional service during the reservation process on Booking.com. If they are left unchecked, the booker will still be able to see the price of the meal during the booking process (if prices have been defined), but they will not be able to add them to the reservation.
2. Upsell configuration in Rezlynx
Due to the nature of how Booking.com send the additional services/add-ons in the reservation messages, the recommendation is to create a new Product for these upsells, as follows:
We will always deliver the upsells as starting from the day or arrival. So, upsells configured in Rezlynx should be configured as Day of Arrival and Resident Days.
Please also ensure that the upsell is built as ‘Per Room’ and not as ‘Per Person’ as Booking.com sends the number of people in the room as the quantity of the upsell.
Please note that even if the upsell is configured in Rezlynx as Resident Days and Day of Check Out, we will still deliver the upsells from Day of Arrival.

Mapping in Distribution Hub
If you would like to sell additional services/add-ons as part of the Booking.com reservation process, then you will need to ensure the Booking.com add-on codes are mapped to the Rezlynx upsell codes.
The Booking.com add-on codes are as follows:
- Breakfast - Booking.com ID: 1
- Lunch - Booking.com ID: 6
- Dinner – Booking.com ID: 7
To map these codes to the PMS codes in Distribution Hub, navigate to Channels => Channel Settings => Mapping:
Select your property code, Booking.com as the channel, and the conversion type for ‘Extra Code’:
Select Add, and then type in the Rezlynx upsell code and the Booking.com upsell code you would like to map:
Repeat this step for each of the additional services/add-ons that you have activated on Booking.com.
When we receive the reservation from Booking.com, we will then convert the value they send, i.e. 1, to the value of the upsell in PMS, i.e. BFAST and deliver the reservation to Rezlynx with the upsell attached.
Please note the default behaviour for this feature is that if we receive a reservation from Booking.com with an upsell that is not mapped we will deliver the reservation with a warning, advising that we could not send the upsell. You will need to manually add the upsell to the reservation in Rezlynx.

Reservations made with Add-Ons
On the ‘Enter your details’ page on Booking.com, the number of nights and the number of guests default to the add-on.
This can be modified by bookers, for example if they only want 1 breakfast each day, or if they only want breakfast for 2 nights of a 3-night stay.
This is the reason why we have opted to deliver the upsells from the day of arrival.
When the upsell is delivered to PMS, it will be delivered as a customised upsell and will override the Posting Mode of the upsell in Rezlynx, i.e. if the posting mode is for ‘Resident Days’ and ‘Day of Check Out’, the upsell will be customised on the reservation as from ‘Day of Arrival’.
On the reservation in Rezlynx, the upsell will be added as follows:
Selecting ‘View Summary’ will show the upsell added to the reservation for X days from the arrival date. The X is the number of nights specified by the booker when they add the add-on to the reservation.
The number of guests value will be delivered as the quantity of the upsell for each day, i.e. 2 guests will be delivered as quantity 2, which is why it is important that the upsell if configured as ‘Per Room’
