We are pleased to announce we have released new Guestline DBM features, with the aim of helping you to convert more online direct bookings in the toughest of times, and to save you admin time. These features are all free of charge.
Cancellations
During the Covid-19 lockdown, we have seen an increase in guests cancelling their reservations, (an unfortunate side-effect of the global pandemic) and have been looking at ways to streamline this process with reservations made on our booking engine.
Subject to rules set for associated rates, guests can now cancel their reservation within a defined cancellation period, via DBM's existing “My Booking” page. If they are unable to cancel their booking due to terms, the cancel button will not show. To find our more, click here

Panel
The new Guestline DBM Panel, which replaces the widget, will display the DBM page directly on the website when guests click 'Book A Room', resulting in a quick and easy booking experience. This means, guests start the booking process within the current website page, without being redirected to a new page. Additionally, it removes the need for hotels to have search functionality on their website, which does not show live availability and consequently can lead to booking abandonment and lost sales. Calendar
DBM’s new Calendar displays live, at a glance availability and restrictions directly in the calendar itself for the next two months. In this way, guests can find accommodation for their check-in/out dates quickly and visually. This enhancement was automatically deployed to all properties, so there’s no action required to enable it. To find out more, click here
Guest Type
With demand in line with COVID-19 Track & Trace, work has been completed to add clarity to the defining age of children when making a booking on DBM. Guests can now better tune their search by stating how many guests are staying by type (adults or children). An optional message will now also appear to identify what age the hotel classes a child as. Hotels can also remove children from their availability search entirely. To find out more, click here

User Experience Enhancements
The basket will now only appear when a room is added, directing the guest’s attention to the next step, and helping to achieve a quicker conversion. The mobile basket also offers more call to actions so that the guest can complete their booking or add more items.
Additionally, the existing breadcrumb feature has been improved to form part of the header. This provides a constant reminder to indicate which step bookers are on and how many steps are required to complete the booking. It also allows bookers to navigate to a previous page by clicking on the relevant step. The mobile layout has also been updated to display the current page with a radial stepper to indicate what percentage of the booking has been completed.
These enhancements were automatically deployed to all properties, so no action required to enable them.
