A connection that allows Guestline to push Rates and Availability from Roomlynx to Hotel Direct.
The hotel/group needs to be selected on the CRS User in Admin. Please follow these steps:
- Log into Roomlynx Admin
- Go into the ‘CRS User Management’ Sub-menu
- Find the ‘HotelDirect’ CRS User and select ‘Edit’
- Under Site Groups or Site ID’s, highlight the hotel/group you are setting the channel up for and move it to the ‘Selected’ box
If a property wish to connect to Hotel Direct they need to contact either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the hotel has signed up with the channel, Hotel Direct will email the property with a username and password to log onto their account. You will need to contact the channel and advise then which Roomlynx server the hotel uses and provide the site ID.
It was highlighted that during testing, if a room type was fully booked and then became available, we would send the physical number of rooms available (ie 5 Doubles) and also send an Open message. As Hotel Direct deal with both Allocation and Freesale, due to limitations of their system, even though we had sent 5 Doubles, their system interpreted the Open message as a Freesale open and updated their system to 99. Due to the potential that this could cause overbookings at the hotel, a workaround is implemented so that when we send an Open message after a room has been closed, their system will open but just with 1 room available. As soon as any availability update is sent again from Roomlynx for this date, this will override the 1 room with the correct availability (ie 5 Doubles).
