It’s important to understand how the overbooking logic works.
There are several ways of utilising the new Overbooking feature and this section aims to add some clarity about the logic. Those 3 ways can be summarised as follows;
1. Using solely House Overbooking values (Not available for Best Western enabled sites)
In this case the user has input a value of 5 for ‘House Overbooking’. This means that any room type can be overbooked up to this value even when they state ‘0’, up to a total sum of 5.
2. Using Room Type values where the sum of those values matches the House Overbooking value (House Booking Value updates Automatically for Best Western Sites)
In this case we have allocated:
- ‘House Overbooking’ Value = 5
- ‘DBLE_EXEC’ Overbooking Value = 2
- ‘DBLE_STND’ Overbooking Value = 3
This means we can only overbook against DBLE_EXEC and DBLE_STND.
3. Using Room Type values on SOME Room Types (leaving others blank) where the sum of those values is less than the House Overbooking value
In this case we have allocated:
‘House Overbooking’ Value = 9
‘DBLE_EXEC’ Overbooking Value = 2
‘DBLE_STND’ Overbooking Value = 3
This means we can overbook against DBLE_EXEC by 2, DBLE_STND by 3 and the remaining House Overbooking value of 4 can be used against any other room type even when they state ‘0’
