Overbooking - Distribution Hub Configuration

Activation in Distribution Hub

By default, sending overbooking values to online booking agents is disabled.  

To activate the sending of overbooking values, navigate to: 

In Rezlynx PMS - Distribution Hub > Connections > Connection Settings

OR

In Distribution Hub - Channels > Connections > Connection Settings

Select your channel and property from the drop-down lists 

Check the box labelled ‘Send Overbooking’ 

Selecting this checkbox means that for this channel and this property, room type overbooking values will be included in the Availability updates sent to the channel.  

Once this checkbox has been selected, press ‘Save’ 

Repeat this process for any online booking agents/channels that you would like to distribute your overbooking values to.  

IMPORTANT – If you do not have access to Interface Settings, please contact the support department with details of which channels and properties you wish to enable this checkbox for.  

Rooms Per Day

Once the checkbox to ‘Send Overbooking’ has been enabled for a channel, any overbooking values defined in Rezlynx will display in Rooms Per Day against each room type and the relevant channel.  

In Rezlynx PMS - Distribution Hub > Rooms > Rooms Per Day

OR

In Distribution Hub - Configuration > Rooms > Rooms Per Day

In the below example, ‘Send Overbooking’ has been enabled for DBM 

House overbooking values defined in Rezlynx will display in parentheses in the top row of the Rooms Per Day grid. This row shows the hotel availability and hotel overbooking values will always show here, even if Overbooking is not sent to any channels.  

The value shown in the hotel availability field for each day is physical hotel availability, and does not include any defined hotel overbooking values, i.e. I only have 67 rooms in my hotel availability, but I will be able to overbook my hotel by 2 additional rooms, so I have 69 rooms available.  

Room type overbooking values defined in Rezlynx will display against each room type, but only for channels where ‘Send Overbooking’ is active.  

The editable value shown in the room type availability field for each day and each room type is the physical availability + the overbooking value: 

The physical available room type stock displays in the first parenthesis value: 

So, in this case I have 6 physical rooms, however for this day I can sell 8 rooms on the DBM.
