Benefits
Building on our existing Monitoring solution (currently embedded in Roomlynx) we have re-engineered a brand new solution to provide an enhanced experience which is much more user-centric:
- Monitoring where you need it most: Embedded within Rezlynx + Distribution workflows.
- Proactive monitoring: Visible, persistent alerts of any current issues whilst logged in to Guestline platform.
- Clearer, simpler visibility of channel status, outbound/ inbound errors, and warnings
- Filtered, drill-down logs with human-readable messages to help resolve any discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
Who can have it?
Distribution Monitoring is initially available to users fitting the following criteria:
- Must have Guestline SSO enabled
- No RMS interfaces enabled (available at a future date)
- No Best Western interfaces enabled (available at a future date)
- Dual Roomlynx sites are not supported.
Distribution Monitoring works best with Google Chrome (Windows/ Mac) or Microsoft Edge (Windows/ Mac).
How is it activated?
We have already activated the new Monitoring to be available for all users of our SSO (Single Sign On) solution. You will see the new Monitoring screen whenever you log into Roomlynx. The old monitoring pages are available for a short time for Best Western customers and customers using RMS systems.
Distribution Monitoring in PMS
Distribution Monitoring is also available to view within Rezlynx PMS when using SSO, enabling you to quickly access key information without having to log in to Roomlynx separately.
This can be enabled within Rezlynx:
- System > System > Ini Settings > Home Page
- Under, Available Tabs for Home Page, tick Distribution Monitoring
This will enable all users access to activate Distribution Monitoring in their own personal Homepage. This can be achieved by clicking on the hamburger menu and selecting on My User Account.
Under Home Page Configuration, ensure that Distribution Monitoring is ticked.
This will them display as a menu tab on the Home Page of Rezlynx
Distribution Monitoring in Roomlynx
As well as Rezlynx PMS, Distribution Monitoring is the homepage when you log into Guestline Distribution (Roomlynx).
Status Overview
Managing more than a single property
When accessing Distribution Monitoring, you will see, by default, all properties available to you based on your SSO user permissions.
To view fewer properties, using close (X) you can remove properties as required. Once the dropdown displays you can also untick properties.
By selecting in the Select a Property field you can select a property from the dropdown or start free typing the property name or site id in the box, to find the relevant property.
Select a Property is available on Status Overview and Messages.
Inbound Reservations & Availability panels
The two main panels will display the status of any reservation or availability/ rates/ restrictions messages processed for channels for the day. These will show as a count of “Successful”, “Warnings” (success with a warning), or “Failed”.
As messages are cleared, the respective counts will reduce for better visibility of new messages throughout the day.
Each counter will return to zero at the start of each day.
Note: The count of “Inbound Reservations Messages Today” includes all messages including modifications and cancellations both from the channel and to the PMS, and therefore does not reflect the net new reservations today.
Connections
In the connections list, the display order will be dictated by priority based on channels with errors, then warnings, then successes. This will, in the case of multiple properties being viewed, also order by the property with the highest priority.
In short, the most relevant row(s) will always be at the top, with properties/ channels with no issues appearing at the bottom. The traffic lights indicate the status for each channel within the past 30 days.
Clicking on any of the traffic lights will redirect you to Messages, where you may view up to 6 months' worth of additional data.
Clicking a property name row will expand/ collapse the resepective channels & traffic lights for that property.
Messages
Reservation Reference Search
Reservation Reference Search will allow you to search for any reservation that has been made via Distribution using the Channel reference (CRS) or the PMS Booking Reference if available.
Room type/Rate plan Search
Room type/Rate plan Search will allow you to search for a valid room type or rate plan code either using the PMS or Channel code, returning any messages that these appear in.
Flexible Filters
These filters are defined when redirected from Status Overview, based on where you were redirected from on the Status Overview page, however they can be cleared (X) to customise the search.
These filters show on Reservations and Availability.
When Filters are added these will also display here.
Share Results
Share Results will allow you to generate a link based on the Property and filters the user is currently viewing, to then pass onto another user, either a colleague or Guestline Support, so that the same filters can be used by them without the user having to populate the filters again.
Once selected this will copy the URL to then allow the user to paste as required.
Clear All
Clear All is linked to the Actions header on Reservations and Availability.
Selecting this option will update all reservations/messages to a “Restore” state.
In doing so, the user acknowledges that they have “actioned” the message. This is useful when dealing with failed messages that have since been resolved and in maintaining good housekeeping with messages. When selected, this will also alter the totals on the main Status Overview page.
Selecting Restore will return the reservation/message back to a Clear state.
Reservations
The reservations list view provides a searchable, filterable, dynamic presentation of up to six months’ history.
Tip: To see the entire history and changes for a single reservation simply search by a CRS Ref.
Actions - ability to clear or restore the reservation message, see Clear All for further details.
Reservation from Channel/ to PMS
Further details of reservations received from Channels or sent to PMS can be viewed when selecting on the dropdown icon.
If the reservation received a warning or an error this will also detail in this dropdown. Information will also be provided on how to action and resolve the issue if required.
View XML
View XML will open a side screen and display the Request and Response of the reservation, allowing for further investigation as required.
This can be displayed in either light or dark mode.
Share Message
Share Message will allow you to generate a link based on the message. Once selected this will copy the URL to then allow the user to paste as required.
