We recommends cleaning the thermal head periodically (generally every 3 months) to maintain receipt print quality.
Note: After printing, the thermal head can be very hot. Do not touch it and let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the thermal head by touching it with your fingers or any hard object.
What you will need
- A cotton swab
- Alcohol solvent
How to Clean the printer head
- Turn off the printer and open the printer cover.
- Clean the thermal elements of the thermal head with a cotton swab moistened with an alcohol solvent (ethanol or IPA).
- Close the printer cover.
- Conduct a test print by holding the 'Feed' button down and at the same time turn the Power back on
- You may need to hold the Feed button for 3-5 seconds but will have a test print come out.
